San Sebastian
& The Basque Coast tour
Description Basque Coast tour
Embark on a breathtaking full-day sightseeing tour through the Spanish Basque Coast! The beautiful border city of Hondarribia (Fuenterrabia), between Spain and France, is our first stop on our tour of the Gipuzkoan Coast. We will have the opportunity to witness some of the fishing traditions of the village and admire its link with the sea. We will take a short stroll through the pictures District of La Marina, known for its pintxos bars and colorful buildings, and head towards the city’s ancient old quarter, the only one in all of Gipuzkoa sheltered between medieval walls.
Without losing sight of the sea, we will continue our trip westward, bumping into extensive green fields packed with Txakoli vineyards overlooking the sea, and catch a glimpse of our next destination: the beautiful coastal town of Getaria, known for being an important fishing sea port, home to the museum of famous fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga, and the birthplace of Juan Sebastián Elcano, the first man to circumnavigate the earth.
Our last stop before returning to San Sebastian will be at the small town of Zumaia. Starting at the Chapel of San Telmo, we will take a short stroll along the Flysch Route and contemplate one of the most breathtaking sceneries of the entire Basque Coast.
